A couple of things about the test: - There will NOT be any diagrams. You will not have to draw or label - Remember I will not be there on Monday when you write the test. Sorry! I will be marking them and will have your marks ready by Wednesday. - Short answer section can be done in POINT FORM (easier for you to write and me to mark) - Any questions you have - anything at all - please ask me on the forum over the weekend. I will check periodically and answer back. The last time I will check on Sunday night is 10pm. Anything posted before then will get a reply shortly after 10. Anything posted later most likely will go unanswered (got to get my rest before my big interview). - Remember, if I did not cover it in class, it will NOT be on the test. Mind you, I did not write nor have I seen the final exam, so maybe ask Mrs. Yip-Chuck about what to expect in June. Good luck everyone!!

Here are a few ways to get extra help if you need it.
- For the next three Tuesdays, I will be at the after school tutoring. Please drop by and see me if you have any questions.
- I am off periods 2 and 5. Feel free to come and see me any time if you have any questions. I hang out in room 213 or the science work room right across the hall.
- The discussion board. It's here to help you. Make use of it as much as you need.
- Don't panic if Friday's lesson seemed a big confusing. It was an overview of what we will cover on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you felt confused, it's because we were talking about things without knowing the whole story. If you still feel confused after next week, then worry. But for now, you are fine.

Hello everyone, In one of my replies in the "Ask a Question" folder, I said purines are single rings. This is wrong!! Please note the following correction: the purines (adenine and guanine) are a DOUBLE ring structure and that the pyrimidines (thymine and cytosine) are SINGLE rings.
I am so sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

For anyone who prints their notes, please note I have uploaded a new version (with extra slides added to the end) for the Day 7 slides.
For anyone who will be away on Friday, we will cover gene control as well as 5.7 and 5.8 if there is time. Not to worry. Both are very brief sections. Let me know if you have any trouble understanding Friday's material.
I am aiming to finish the chapter on Friday which will allow all day Monday for review. This is the new game plan. If there isn't enough time on Friday, whatever is left will be covered on Monday.

Hello everyone, I know you are all busy studying this weekend, but in case anyone wants to get a head start on the assignment, I am going to post it here as an attachment as well as under the notes section of the site. I will spend the first few minutes of Monday's class going over the assignment and handing out hard copies, so no worries if you are confused as to what is expected of you. The assignment can be done in groups of 2-3, or alone if you so choose. Due: Wednesday, May 2 Attachments:

Hello everyone, Tomorrow (Thursday) we have shortened periods due to the assembly. Also, there is the biology contest many of you are writing and formal which some of you may leave early to go prepare for. Therefore, tomorrow we will NOT have a lesson. It will be a free work period. I can see about getting us the computers so you can work on the biotech assignment, but just in case, bring work from other classes.
We will continue with the rest of the slides we started today on Monday and then move forward from there.

Hello everyone,
I don't know if anyone noticed, but under the Notes page, I have added another page called Math Notes. These are the second semester calculus notes I promised I would post.
I think it would be a good idea to download them and just save them in a folder. If you don't end up needing them next year, delete them. But if you do find yourself needing some extra help, they may come in handy.
I really do hope they help you next year! Happy studying!

Hello everyone, As you may have heard from your friends in period 4, I have moved the unit test to Monday. I heard a lot of you talking in class about how you have a calculus quiz tomorrow and another test on Friday so to be fair, I asked Mrs. Yip-Chuck if we could move ours to Monday. Technically my placement is over on Thursday however I was going to come back for Friday's test. So this means my last day with all of you will be Thursday. Mrs. Yip-Chuck will take over and move on with the new unit on Friday. I will not be here on Monday, however, I will still be writing and marking the test. The only condition to this is that I will not be able to mark the test until after May 12th when I come home from my trip. Hopefully this makes your week a bit sunnier than it looked this morning. Also, period 1, don't worry if you didn't understand the plasmid mapping. We will go over it tomorrow morning. I promise I'll explain it better this time

I have posted the multiple choice sections of the test and I'll post the answers tomorrow.
I left me binder at school today. I do not have the plasmid questions I was hoping to give you to work on tonight so I will post those tomorrow. You will have tomorrow night to work on them and then we can go over any problems you may have on Thursday.

Hello everyone,
I have scanned all of my old study notes and made them into a PowerPoint file. They are added under the notes section. Also, my old math notes are there as well. Please download these files and save them on your computers. That way if you need them, you will have them.
